Dr Kulsoom Malik DClinPsy UK
Dr Kulsoom Jawaid Malik completed her training as Clinical Psychologist from the University of Birmingham UK. She is currently the Director for the London Psychology Centre and Head of Psychology Department UMT Sialkot.
Dr Malik has both extensive research and clinical experience. Her Doctorate research was on the experiences of South Asian women with learning disabilities. In addition she has written a literature review exploring whether Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis can used as a research methodology with people with learning disabilities.
She has presented her research both locally in Pakistan and internationally such as the 10th International Congress of EAMHID, Florence, Italy.
As well as presenting research internationally, she also has publications in a variety of international peer reviewed journals.
Dr Malik has worked in a variety of clinical settings in the UK which includes specialist training in working with people with learning disabilities, adults with severe and enduring mental health issues such as schizophrenia, suicidal thoughts and self harm. She has worked within primary care settings where she has trained multidisciplinary professionals such as Drs and nurses. She has also worked with older people with dementia. She has worked for both private organisations and the government based National Health Services.
She is a fully accredited member of the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC, UK) and a chartered member of the British Psychological Society.
